A 2-year-old boy fell and was seriously injured Friday. From the balcony of my Mississauga apartment in the afternoon.

However, infants are expected to survive.

Peel District Police at2111 Roche Ct. — Near Erin Mills Pkwy. and Dr. Fowler—about 5:15 p.m. I found a seriously injured boy on the ground.

Few details were released immediately, but reports say the child jumped from his third-floor balcony and landed on the lawn below.

The baby was taken to a pediatric trauma center and was in critical condition. Police initially thought it was a potentially life-threatening injury.

However, police later said on Twitter that they believed the boy's injuries were no longer life-threatening.

Do children live in the building? It wasn't immediately clear that he had fallen from the balcony.

"We will investigate them all. Who was at home? And what exactly happened? And this is a tragic, tragic incident." Const. Heather Cannon told reporters at the scene.

Investigators interviewed several witnesses, but she urged anyone with information she had not yet told police to come forward.

"At this time, we are continuing to investigate," Cannon said. "The scene has been held for further investigation."
