A 27-year-old Brampton man faces charges in an alleged lottery scam that targeted the elderly across Canada between 2018-2022 to the tune of $200,000.
On Feb. 3, 2023, investigators with Peel Police’s Fraud Bureau wrapped up a criminal investigation after multiple elderly victims were told over the phone they had won a lottery sweepstakes and to send money to cover fees to collect their winnings.

Javaune Ledgister has been charged with possession of property obtained by a crime and investigators believe there may be more victims within the GTA and beyond.
