Sofia, Bulgaria (AP) — Four people were killed and at least eight injured in a bus crash in Bulgaria early Saturday morning, officials said.
The bus was carrying tourists returning to Romania from a trip to Istanbul when it struck a car parked on the side of the highway connecting Veliko Tarnovo, the central city of Bulgaria, and the port of the Danube in Ruse. local police said.
After being hit by a car, the bus crashed into a tree. Three died on the spot, and a fourth later died from his injuries.
The bus was carrying his 24 passengers and his two drivers when the accident occurred at 02:00 local time on Saturday (2300 GMT on Friday). Brain injury, the doctor said.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
In November, a tourist bus from North Macedonia crashed into a guardrail on a highway in western Bulgaria, burst into flames and overturned. The accident killed 45 of his people, including 12 children.
