COVID-19: 273 hospitalized, 17 dead in 7 days

B.C. Health authorities publish weekly updates on the latest hospitalizations, deaths, and new cases.

COVID-19 hospitalizations and new infection numbers in B.C. continued their steady decline.

On the eve of Canada Day, 273 people were hospitalized with COVID-19. This is the second lowest number ever recorded, down 12% from 276 last week. 2022.

The lowest number of hospitalizations was on March 24, peaking near 600 in mid-May, just before it began to turn upwards.

Of the 273 people currently hospitalized, 31 are receiving critical care.

British Columbia Released Thursday,The latest weekly reportreported 620 new cases between June 19 and June 25, reported the previous week. It is a slight decrease from the 642 cases reported, which is about one-third of the new infections reported in late April.
