COVID-19: Second outbreak declared at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsey. large number of patients

Ross Memorial Hospital in LindsayOntario declared a second COVID-19 outbreak on Thursday .

Halliburton, Kawarsa Pine Ridge District Health Unit declared an outbreak in the hospital's Intermediate Medical Unit.

On 5 August, an outbreak was declared in the hospital's medical north unit.

As of noon on Thursday, 16 hospitalized patients with COVID-19were reported, up from the 15 reported on Wednesday.

Hospitals say the outbreak, combined with an increase in patient numbers, has increased pressure on staffing and services.

On Wednesdaythe Department of Health reported 131 active cases of COVID-19within the jurisdiction of the City of Kawartha Lakes in Northumberland and Halliburton counties. The City of Kawartha Lakes led his 69 active cases.

The nearby Peterborough Community Health Center also has two active his COVID-19 outbreaks.
