COVID-19 update: Hospitalizations at highest level since August

No new deaths had been attributed to COVID-19, Quebec announced.

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Quebec is at its highest level since August, the province reported Wednesday.

A total of 1,780 such patients were in hospitals — 23 more than the previous day.

Of those patients, 34 were in intensive care — an increase of one.

No new deaths had been attributed to COVID-19, the province announced.

The province reported that 1,083 more COVID-19 cases had been confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. However, because this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case numbers are not representative of the situation in the province.

On Tuesday, Quebec administered 19,148 vaccine doses.

Since the start of its vaccination campaign, the province has received 24,898,405 doses, of which it has administered 21,346,506.
