Quebec announced on Friday that four more deaths had been attributed to COVID-19, bringing its death toll to 17,971. One of the deaths occurred between two and seven days ago, while the other three occurred more than seven days ago.
The province also announced that the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 decreased by 31 to 1,408, with 81 new entries and 112 new discharges. Of those in hospital, the number in intensive care fell by one to 24, with four new entries and five discharges.

The province reported that 524 more COVID-19 cases had been confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. However, because this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case numbers are not representative of the situation in the province.
