Driver charged in crash that injured Peel cop in Brampton

A woman and child are in hospital with serious injuries after “a freak accident” in Brampton on Monday afternoon, according to police.

An early morning crash in Brampton has sent two people to hospital, including a police officer.

Peel Regional Police say the two-vehicle collision happened around 3 a.m. at Rutherford and Orenda Rds.

A police cruiser was one of the vehicles involved.

The officer and a man driving the other vehicle were taken to hospital. Both suffered minor injuries and have been released from hospital.

Cops say the civilian driver was arrested for dangerous driving and other offences.
