Michigan courts again ruled international law ruled in favor of energy security and against political opportunism.

Last week, District Court Judge Janet Neff shut down Michigan Gov. I declined the offer to take it to court.

The court concluded that Michigan attempted to "gain an unfair advantage through improper use of the judicial system," Neff said in the ruling.

Shortly after being elected, Whitmer, citing environmental concerns, decided to build dual his pipelines carrying up to 540,000 barrels of oil and natural gas a day from Alberta and Saskatchewan through the Strait of Mackinac. Began a silly attempt to close. It is a vital fuel supply for Quebec, Ontario, Ohio, Michigan, and other US states.

This is the second time Neff has ruled against Michigan on his 5th. Last November, Nef issued a similar ruling, which the state appealed on technical grounds.

Enbridge welcomed the judge's decision, stating that closing Route 5 "would violate the international treaty with Canada that has been in place since 1977." Stated.

Enough. It would be utterly foolish for any government to pursue such a foolish and self-destructive path to strangle a vital, long-established source of energy.

Let's see what happened in Europe. The West has abandoned nuclear and coal power in an attempt to jump on the "green" bandwagon.

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel's legacy is that her country now relies on Russia to fuel its industrial hub. The rubles that Germany pays for Russian gas are fueling war in Ukraine. Merkel's successor, Olaf Scholz, is on a futile mission to Canada in search of alternative fuels.

Large swaths of Europe are experiencing a severe cold spell as Russia threatens to cut gas supplies in retaliation for Western sanctions.

Don't let that happen here. Canada is a country rich in resources, but those resources are constantly undermined by political parochialism. Joe Biden, in his first act after taking office as president, destroyed another critical energy link, the Keystone XL crude oil pipeline.

This cannot continue. We cannot allow naive politicians to base important energy decisions on vulgar and politically selfish decisions.
