Edmonton begins responding to extreme weather amid heat warning

High temperatures are expected in Edmonton over the next few days. Along with that, the city has started to respond to abnormal weather.

Environment Canada issued a heat alert for Edmonton and much of the province on Wednesday.

Daily highs near 30 degrees are expected for the Edmonton area on Thursday and Friday, with overnight lows in the mid-to-high teens, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
