The sudden and unexpected closure of the Greater Vancouver Zoo on Tuesday was the result of a free-ranging wolf. is the cause.
The Aldergrove facility abruptly announced its closure for the day with little to no notice to visitors other than a brief social media message.
Rangers were called to the zoo to help retrieve a wolf that had escaped its enclosure earlier in the day, according to the Department of Environment, which oversees BC.
It is unknown how many wolves escaped the pen, but one is on the run.
If anyone encounters a wolf, keep your distance and report the sighting immediately to the Report all Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) line 1-877-. It is recommended. 952-7277.
Greater Vancouver Zoo has not yet responded to requests for more information.

The Langley RCMP said it had personnel on site to assist maintenance personnel.
