Estimated $ 600,000 damages fixed in London, Ont. Townhouse fire

According to fire authorities, the damage caused by the and house fires in northwest London is estimated to be $ 600,000.

On Sunday morning, an external fire was reported behind the townhouse complex at 555 Lawson Rd.

"We were able to contain the fire very quickly," said Colin Shewell, Deputy Director of the Platoon. "But we stayed on site until around noon on Sunday, turning off some hotspots and looking for an extension of the attic above the two units."

During the investigation, the crew found two 7.5 kg propane tanks at the rear end of the house near where the fire broke out.

However, Shewell said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"All fires are considered suspicious until otherwise proven," Shewell said. "We asked the Ontario Fire Marshal Office for some instructions, but did not attend due to the loss of the dollar."

Investigation is ongoing.
