Brussels (AP) — European Union leaders Croatia will join the group of countries that use the euro agreed on Friday and will increase the number of countries sharing the currency to 20 from January.
"The euro was a monetary expression of our common destiny and was part of our European dream," said the Council of the European Union, who chaired the Brussels block leader summit. Chairman Charles Michel said. "Now, Croatia's dream has come true."
After consultations with EU Parliamentarians and the European Central Bank, this process has been adopted in July of three legal acts that allow for switching. It will end with what is scheduled.
