Father and son arrested in connection with a string of Longueuil burglaries

Longueuil police on Thursday announced they had arrested a father and son in connection with a string of burglaries that date back to last November.

For the past four months, a series of break-ins had been committed within the area contained by Chambly Rd., Préfontaine St., Curé-Poirier Blvd. W. and Saint-Laurent St. in Longueuil.

The incidents shared several characteristics — entry was gained through a patio door or broken window and thieves targeted jewels, cash and computer items, according to police, who had received information that the suspects got around on foot.

A long-term surveillance operation ended with the arrests of Sylvain Frigault, 55, and Alexandre Frigault, 19.

Many of the stolen items were recovered and returned to their owners.
