Firefighters rescued a crane operator who had a medical emergency at a construction site on Central Park Drive off Merivale Road Friday morning.
Rope rescue technicians went up the crane to assess the patient and raised a litter basket, Ottawa Fire Services said at about 11:30 a.m.

The Ottawa Paramedic Service said that it responded to the construction site at 11:07 a.m. after the operator went into medical distress.
Tactical paramedics gained access to the patient before the woman was lowered by firefighters to awaiting paramedics.
The patient was “packaged” for a safe descent and brought to the ground, the fire department said.
She was taken to hospital in stable condition, paramedics said.
