Kristina Shanahan and Christine Deaudelin scored the other Montreal goals in the second period with Taylor Baker picking up assists on both goals.

“I thought today’s game was a real character builder,” said Force coach Peter Smith. “The team played with grit and determination from start to finish. Down 2-0 after the first period, it would have been easy to get away from the plan. But players stuck with it. We got a super contribution throughout the lineup.”

With the win, the Force improved to 3-2-0, while the Whale has an 0-1-1 record.

The Force and the Whale will meet again Sunday at noon (TVA Sports2).
