Founder of punk band Teenage Head murdered, son charged: police

Lead guitarist for Canadian punk band Teenage Head Gord-Lewis was found murdered in Hamilton's apartment, the Toronto Sun confirmed.

The musician's son, 41-year-old Jeff Lewis, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Hamilton Police reported Sunday that a man in his 60s was found dead in his Brockton Apartments residence at 175 Catherine Street.

On Monday, police said they were unable to identify the bodies due to the level of decomposition. An autopsy will be performed at a later date.

However, sources confirmed Gord Lewis as the murder victim on Toronto Sun Monday.

Teenage Head's longtime Lord Rob Gronforth, his manager, told the Sun: We have all lost a great, great and musical genius of our time. Remember him always doing what he loves on stage. May God rest his soul.

Teenage Head's latest line-up includes Lewis and bassist Steve Mahon, along with Jean Champagne (The Killjoys) on drums and Dave "Rave" Desloche on singers. It was done.

Original frontman singer Frankie "Venom" Carr died of throat cancer in 2008 at the age of 51.

Formed in 1975, the band were all students at Westdale High School in Hamilton. They are reportedly set to perform at Carfest in Oakville on September 10th.

The group has received more attention in recent years following the release ofPicture My Face: The Story of Teenage Head, 2020. A documentary aired on television after director Doug Arrowsmith shot the band in 2018-19. said he was interested in a "strong modern story" of the crippling depression Lewis suffered. The documentary ends up in a mood disorder unit after being "blue" in a bar due to conflicting medications.

Mahon told the Sun that Lewis has been living alone since filming, taking proper medication and receiving weekly treatment.

The Teenage Head said the ban was lifted when crowds exceeded capacity at his Last pogo show at the Horseshoe in 1978 and his 1980 performance at Ontario Place. He became famous for causing riots.

Lewis was  Hamilton's third murder victim in 2022.
