Birmingham — Australia Kelsey -Lee Barber won gold at the Commonwealth Games javelin on Sunday after defending his world title last month and then overcoming a bout of COVID-19.

Barber looked like he was going for silver behind Mackenzie Little, but he unleashed a mighty 64.43-meter effort on his final pitch, just behind his teammates. He won the title by 16 centimeters.
