Heavy rain, high winds headed to Toronto on Thursday

Hopefully Torontonians enjoyed the last few days of unseasonably warm weather because another storm is headed our way on Thursday morning, according to Environment Canada, which has issued a special weather statement.

T.O. can expect strong winds and heavy rainfall possible that day, between early morning to early evening, with total amounts between 15 to 25 mm and southwesterly winds gusting 70 to 90 km an hour.

The storm will begin with rain over extreme southwestern Ontario early Thursday morning and advance northeastward through the day.

    'High-impact' storm forecast to hit Toronto on Wednesday

A brief period of freezing rain is possible Thursday morning for areas inland from the Great Lakes.

Rain will taper to showers by Thursday evening but gusty southwesterly winds are expected Thursday afternoon into early Thursday evening.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break and isolated utility outages are possible as well as localized flooding in areas of poor drainage.
