Two Home Repair Scammers Investigate Halton Area 'Elderly ' is targeted. Beyond that, cops warn.

Halton County Police said the scam involved contractors going door to door selling unsolicited services. Cash payment.

Based on complaints, police say initial work may begin, but the work will be substandard and/or incomplete.

At that point, the consumer may be asked for additional money to purchase the material or be asked to complete the payment for the project. Once this additional or final payment is received, the contractor will disappear and her calls and texts will go unanswered.

He has received two complaints of this same type of manipulation, but police believe there may be victims outside Halton's area as well.

The suspect, aged 25 to 35, is two Caucasian males, about 5'9 tall, of a stock build, with an Irish or possibly Scottish accent. It is explained that

One male has dark black hair, the second has short light blond or light brown hair and a mustache.

In both cases, the suspect's son was accompanied by a young man who claimed he was one.
