Intruder tried to pull child through Abbotsford window in possible abduction: police

Abbotsford Police issued a warning Monday night about a possible attempted kidnapping of a child.

Police said the incident occurred just before 9:00 pm. At a house on the 2700 block of Maple St.

"Initial information received was that an unidentified man broke into the residence and attempted to drag the child out of the first floor bedroom window," Const. Jody Thomas said in a media release. He said:

"Child was free and unharmed."

Police, K9 Unit, and forensic investigators were dispatched to the scene, but no suspects were found.

investigation is in its early stages, but police have released preliminary information as a precautionary measure, telling Abbotsford residents to lock their doors and windows, To report suspicious activity.
