Kelowna RCMP seek attackers, getaway vehicle in Friday evening stabbing

Kelowna police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a stolen vehicle that was used during a stabbing Friday.

On Friday, around 9:15 p.m., Kelowna RCMP were called to the 1000-block of Wilson Road for the report of a stabbing. First-responders arrived to find a victim, a 20-something-year-old Kelowna man, suffering from an apparent stab wound and being tended to by a group of bystanders. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are now searching for two men associated with a stolen vehicle they believe was used as the getaway vehicle during the stabbing. One wore a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. The other was described as a heavy-set, balding Asian man wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

The suspects are linked to a stolen vehicle, a white, 2013, four-door Dodge Dart with B.C. licence plate GX209E.

“RCMP is actively searching for the crime vehicle at this time,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP. “Anyone who spots the Dodge Dart abandoned or mobile on our roadways is urged not to approach it and call 911.”

Police say the stabbing was an isolated event and wasn’t random.

Anyone who witnessed the stabbing, or who may recognize the suspects or the stolen vehicle, is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
