The Nova Scotia government has announced the largest reward in the history of theunsolved crimeprogram for the death of Lee Marion Kanein North Preston. said to provide

Kane was only eight years old when he died in a high-profile shooting in Dartmouth on December 21, 2021.

Currently, the state is offering his $250,000 for information leading to his arrest. and convictions of individuals involved in the shooting. That amount is $100,000 more than the current maximum allowed in other cases.

Halifax in December Police said a child was in the vehicle with the 26-year-old man when shots were fired at the 26-year-old's car on Windmill Road and Waddell Avenue.

The shooting occurred at 4pm in a busy commercial and industrial area. According to police, the suspects were two of his black men, who were allegedly driving his burgundy SUV (presumably a Chevrolet) with tinted windows.

Lee-Marion died in hospital from his injuries, while the man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

state said in an announcement Wednesday that this is the first time bounties for unsolved crimes have been increased in specific cases. has 106 active cases.

Justice Minister Brad Johns said in a release that he hoped the rewards would encourage people with information about the murders to turn themselves in to the police.
