A local museum on display at an event in Kingston, Ontario

The weekly "Movies in the Square" evening was preceded by a highly talked-about event Thursday night at Kingston's Springer Market Square.

Movies in the Square have been a staple of Kingston's summer for years, with people of all ages flocking to the square to watch the outdoor movies of the week.

Thursday night featured Night Museum, starring Ben Stiller, and in honor of the occasion, Tourism Kingston is partnering with his eight local museums. Added more fun to the square.

They were invited to set up booths in the plaza to show the public what they had to offer.

25} "We are here to entertain, to engage with us," Shimzio O'Connor, manager and curator of the Marnie Tower Museum said ahead of the event.

This was a chance for moviegoers to take a peek at what many local museums had to offer before the show.

The Pumphouse Museum, the Marnie Tower Museum, and the Health Care Museum in Kingston were on display.

"Our museum is in a fairly secluded area, so it was an opportunity like this." So many people have come in and said they didn't know we existed, says Katrina Johnson, a student at Queen's University and public program assistant at the Museum of Health Care in Kingston.
