Longboarders flock to theOkanaganthis weekend for the inaugural Knox Mountain Downhill.

The event will be open to the public, but road closures and parking restrictions will be in place for the duration of the event. The bottom 1.5 km of Knox Mountain Drive from the base to the first lookout will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday
"During this time pedestrians may enter the area to view the event. are allowed from designated spectator areas," the city announced the closure.

"Hikers are encouraged to follow area trails, including the Apex Trail, if the downhill course is not being used by participants or shuttle vehicles. Rail access is also permitted, and event volunteers will be stationed on-site to ensure safe passage for pedestrians and hikers throughout the event area.”
