Lourdes Gurriel Jr. scored three hits, including a solo home run, and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday afternoon 9-2.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. scored three RBIs. Added the Blue Jays of Canada Day. Toronto won the first two games of the five-game series.

Toronto's right-handed José Berríos (6-4) allowed two runs, eight hits, two walks and three strikeouts in five innings.

Tampa Bay's right-handed Corey Kluber (3-5) allowed 5 runs, 7 hits and 2 walks with one strikeout in 3 innings.

Harold Ramirez singled out in 2nd place, Josh Lowe doubled in 3rd place, and Rene Focus's ground out in 3rd place.

McKay allowed Gurriel's fifth home run of the season and played twice in seven.

Max Castillo has thrown a perfect octave into Toronto.

Brett Phillips pitched 8th from the right fielder to avoid a lead-off double. This was the third time he pitched this season.

Castillo focused on his third wild pitch and his ninth single.

Raise chose outfielder Luke Raley and left-handed Ryan Yarbrough as Triple A Durham on Friday. They recovered Kiermaier (inflammation of the left hip) from the injured list and recalled right-handed McKay from the taxi corps.
