Police say a male victim was killed and a woman injured in overnight shootings inOakville.
Halton Area Police received reports of "numerous" gunshots in the Belt He Lane and Littlefield Road areas near Bronte Road and Queen Elizabeth Way around 1 a.m. Friday. A police officer responded, he said.
Officers found his two victims, one male and one female, who had been shot.

The female victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
"Initial information suggests the victim was targeted by the shooter," police said.
One or more suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting.

The Halton Police Department Homicide Division is currently investigating.
