A man accused of having an explosive and vocal threat at the eastern end of Hamilton

A Hamilton man faces two charges on Sunday night for carrying explosives and intimidating him at the eastern end of the city.

Police say a 50-year-old boy was arrested after seeking service around 7:30 pm. From residents of the Ottawa Street North and Cannon Street East areas.

Incident Explosives disposal unit could be mobilized to retrieve, investigate and disarm the device the suspect was carrying.

"This area has been secured, roads have been closed, some street residents have been evacuated, and the rest I was put in a shelter, "said HPS spokesman Krista-Lee Ernst.

The accused has been charged with two charges for possessing explosives and threatening to cause physical harm.
