A man was found dead Thursday night in a Nanaimo home that had been destroyed in a fire.
Shortly after 5:00 pm, the Nanaimo City Fire Brigade was the first to arrive on the scene. After reports of black smoke billowing out of the windows of a home on Athletic Boulevard.
The fire brigade contained the fire to the home and was extinguished within 40 minutes. When the crew entered the house, they found the corpse of a man.
The discovery of the body is considered suspicious and is under investigation by the Nanaimo RCMP.
If anyone has information, the Nanaimo RCMP is asking to call his non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and cite file #2022-27862.
