VANCOUVER — A man has been charged with attacking several people with a machete in downtown Vancouver.
Ibrahim Bakhit, 48, faces three charges against him, including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, according to a Vancouver Police statement.
Bacquit remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on 22 August, according to court documents. The man allegedly set fire to his suite and attacked his four inside the building.
At least one of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Officers shot and seriously injured the suspect, requiring an investigation by the Independent Bureau of Investigation.
