Man shot in Montreal North

Montreal police say a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon during an apparent attempted murder in Montreal North.

A 911 call around 1:40 p.m. reported the shooting on Joseph-Dufresne St. near Lacordaire Park, police said. When officers arrived, they found the man with upper-body injuries.

He was still conscious when he was transported to a hospital by paramedics, and there was no immediate word on his condition. The man is well known to police.

No arrests have been made in the case yet. Suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
