Martha Stewart opens The Bedford Restaurant in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Recently, Las Vegas rolled out her carpet red for Martha Her Stewart. To mark the grand opening of her first restaurant The Bedford by Martha Stewart.

Stewart in Paris looks elegant in a flowing yellow gown. Yves Saint Laurent held court amid a gathering of her avid fans, industry insiders and her dear friends. Among them was her best friend, Snoop Dogg, who surprised her when she showed up for her celebration.

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo joined her. Stars including legendary chef and lifetime James Beard Award winner Martin Yang (Yan Kang Kwok).

And Stewart's new restaurant is a nod to the charm found in her personal home. It's an ode. Her 1925 country farmhouse in Bedford, New York includes an exact replica of her own brown faux-wood dining room. There is not an inch of beautifully detailed restaurant that does not reflect the identity of the legendary lifestyle magnate. Curated by Martha herself and her team, the décor is understated elegance thanks to an understated, neutral color scheme and simple yet elegant furnishings. From the dishes to the glasses to the sconce, to the way some angles of the restaurant give the feeling of looking out into Martha's backyard, the restaurant is a true reflection of her lifestyle.

In fact, if you didn't know better, you'd think she was invited to Stewart's real farmhouse in Bedford, not Las Vegas glitz.

For food, we had Sour Cherry Rosemary Focaccia and warm Parker House rolls with clam and tomato confit. Halibut and corn chowder, peeled and herb breaded whole roast chicken (carved tableside) and, of course, even Big Martha's Pierogis stuffed with potatoes and brown butter are on the menu. You can order it with golden ostra caviar and sour cream. There are also her famous "smashed" baked potatoes.

For dessert, throw it all away for her signature We recommend popping in for the Upside Down Lemon Meringue Pie, a fluffy, sinfully smooth concoction that you'll have to order more to take home.

The next day at a special brunch for a select group of invited guests hosted by Stewart in the main dining room of 196 restaurant, she said she was thrilled to partner with Caesars based on their success in finding the right partner who shares the same vision. "You can't be successful if you can't find people who are like you," Stewart said. That includes her attention to excellence in every section of her restaurant and how important food presentation is.
