Montreal — CF Montreal defeats Charlotte FC 2-1 at Saputo Stadium on Saturday night to take second place in Eastern , I'm back in the line of victory. Major League Soccer Conference.

Romell Quioto and Mathieu Choinière scored in Montreal (8-6-2), and Gusman Corusio was the only scorer in Charlotte (6-9-2).

Montreal has incredibly strengthened the habit of starting games at home. This was no exception, dominating the ball and constantly pushing Charlotte back.

It took only 7 minutes for Montreal to break the deadlock. The first shot from Kioto found the lower right corner and gave the host a lead.

When a defensive accident led to a simple tap-in from a few feet away for Korho, Charlotte took only three minutes to respond.

The other side of the habit was that, following their strong start, they took their feet off the gas and caused the opposite pressure. Charlotte ran out of clocks in the first half and looked happy, so there was no difference in this game either.

After rebooting, Montreal seems to have found the tempo again. Two minutes after half-time, Kioto found Choiniere in space and shot a perfect shot in the opposite corner.

When Charlotte kept pushing the equalizer, their best chance was 7 minutes left. Karol Swiderski had two point blank shots. One was preserved by Sebastian Breza and the other was fired above the bar.

For Montreal fans, three points weren't the only reason for the celebration, as Mason Toye, who had been absent due to a series of injuries over the past decade, has returned.

Both teams are scheduled for a mid-week match as Montreal will visit Seattle on June 29th to play against the Sounders. Charlotte will return to Bank of America Stadium on June 30th to host Austin FC.
