A game in the first week of December can hardly be considered a playoff preview. But with two months in the books, the odds are good that Toronto and Tampa Bay, who play each other for the first time on Saturday, could be seeing each other again in the first round.

Neither team is catching Boston.

With the Bruins winning 19 of 22 games, BetOnline.ag has made them 4/11 favourites to win the Atlantic Division. The Maple Leafs, who have won five in a row despite losing a third of its defence, have gone from 11/4 to 15/4. The Lightning are third, having dropped from 5/1 to 19/1.

It’s still early and there’s more than two-thirds of the season remaining. So a lot can change, including the odds that the Florida Panthers will miss the playoffs. But more and more, it’s looking like the Leafs could get a rematch against a Lightning team that beat them in Game 7 last year and then went to the final for the third time in a row.
