Provincial police are investigating a break-in at a business in the hamlet of Monkland early Tuesday in which suspects made off with a safe containing an unspecified “large sum of money.”

Police said a pair of thieves entered an unidentified business on Highway 138 and after a bit of effort, removed the bulky safe.

Police say they are trying to identify the vehicle used in the getaway, a silver Ford F-250, with a black pin strip down the length of the vehicle.
