BEIRUT — A Palestinian security official was shot dead in a refugee camp in southern Lebanon late Monday, three Palestinian security officials said. It was just hours after the ceasefire between Israeli and Palestinian militants in Gaza.
Aladdin was shot in the head by unidentified assailants and later died from the wounds, sources told Reuters.
Alladin is outside the jurisdiction of the Lebanese security services.He is one of 12 Palestinian camps in Lebanon. .
The camp has seen intermittent clashes in recent years between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah Party and factions allied to Sunni Islamist factions. (Reporting by Timour Azhari, Writing by Maya Gebeily, Editing by Grant McCool)
