Pedestrian suffers life-altering injuries after being hit by vehicle in Pembroke parking lot

An 83-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious, life-altering injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a Pembroke parking lot Monday.

The injured person was later airlifted to an Ottawa-area hospital, the OPP said in a news release.

The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment responded just before 1 p.m. to a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Pembroke Street East. The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
