Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois promises to be “responsible and combative” on the issue of climate change if his party forms the official opposition to another CAQ government following Quebec’s Oct. 3 election.
As advance voting began on Sunday, the Québec solidaire co-spokesperson once again attacked François Legault on environmental issues.

He accused the CAQ leader of having a “plan to accelerate climate change” with his $7.4 billion of campaign promises for highway projects, including a third link between Quebec City and Lévis.
The environment is the central theme of Québec solidaire’s campaign. Nadeau-Dubois frequently describes this election as the “last chance” for the climate.
If his party forms the official opposition, Nadeau-Dubois says he would work with the government if it goes in the right direction on the environment.
“We’ll work with them and do everything to make sure the government goes as far as possible. And each time the government wants to take us backwards, we’re going to stand up and defend the fact that the future is non-negotiable. We’re going to be responsible and combative,” he said during an appearance at the office of Rimouski candidate Carol-Ann Kack.
