Seven people rescued from west end residential fire

Seven people were rescued from a two-alarm residential fire in the city’s west end Saturday morning.

Toronto Fire Services received a call for smoke coming from a home on Eglinton Ave. W., just east of Keele St., around 10:30 a.m.

The residence is a unit above a commercial property.

Seven occupants with fire-related injuries were assessed and treated at the scene. Three of them were transport to hospital for smoke inhalation.

“Our thoughts are with the injured and all affected. Stay safe everyone,” Toronto Fire said.
