A Sûreté du Québec spokesperson said blood tests had been conducted on the driver to determine whether they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The crash occurred at 4:45 p.m., when two cars engaged in a street race. The driver of one of the cars lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a ravine. The driver and the three passengers — all minors — were taken to hospital.
Investigators will question the driver once his health permits. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured and police will question the 18-year-old driver and other witnesses.
