They say: A face cream from the French brand Avene that is billed as the first “biomimetic 48-hour moisturizer.” The preservative and fragrance-free formulation is suitable for all ages and for dry to very dry, dehydrated skin.
We say: Our tester, a woman in her 70s, put this cream to the test. She found the formulation to be quick-absorbing and left her skin feeling nourished and smooth thanks to the hyaluronic acid in it. The cream made for an “excellent base” for makeup application, she reports.

Marc Jacobs
Perfect eau de toilette
They say: A fresh new scent addition to the Marc Jacobs Perfect family that features notes of pink peppercorn with Polygonum and cedarwood. The fruity-floral fragrance is inspired by the designer’s mantra of “I am perfect as I am” and the power of being true to oneself.
We say: Our tester found this fragrance to be light and “sparkling.” The pink peppercorn and floral notes played together for a mix that was nicely sweet while the cedarwood base served to add balance.

Dove
Deep Moisture Body Wash
They say: A body wash with “24hr Renewing MicroMoisture” to cleanse and nourish even the driest skin. The sulphate-free, paraben-free and vegan-friendly body cleanser features “millions of MicroMoisture droplets” to boost the skin’s hydration levels.
We say: Battling itchy skin from the winter weather, our tester was excited to try this creamy body wash. The product lathers nicely and has a clean scent. The formula gently cleansed skin and left it feeling smooth and soft. She noticed, with use, her skin felt more comfortable and less dry.
