A woman was getting off a transit bus in Mississauga on South Service Rd. — about one kilometre east of Hurontario St. — around midnight on Sept. 27, 2013, when Cho, who was armed, pulled her into a dark area and sexually assaulted her, according to a police statement.
In the second incident — on Nov. 13, 2014 — a woman got off a transit bus at around 12:30 a.m. at Yonge Street and Canyon Hill Ave. in Richmond Hill when Cho demanded money from her at knifepoint, before pulling the victim into a field and sexually assaulting her.
Investigators had a major breakthrough in the fall of 2021, when the Centre for Forensic Sciences produced a forensic link from an unrelated incident, which ultimately led to identifying Cho.
Police urged anyone with additional information to call 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7071.
