Two of the four people arrested following a shooting in the parking lot of a supermarket in St-Léonard were charged at the Montreal courthouse on Friday.

Ashley François, of Pointe-aux-Trembles, and Daniel Tilus, both 20, made brief appearances before a Quebec Court judge. They were both charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon that was loaded.

The Crown agreed both could be released if they could each make a $2,000 deposit.

François’ lawyer asked the charges not be read into the court record so she wouldn’t have to enter a plea to the charges filed against her.

As part of her release conditions, François is not allowed to communicate with Tilus as well as with two minors who were described as her alleged accomplices in court.

She is also not allowed to possess any weapons while her case is pending.

Tilus was ordered to be released as well after he agreed to follow similar conditions. In October, at the Montreal courthouse, Tilus was charged, along with three other men, in a case involving a stolen vehicle.

His and François’ cases related to the shooting outside the IGA return to court in February.

All four of the suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon, more than an hour after several shots were fired in the parking lot of an IGA in St-Léonard at the corner of Langelier Blvd. and Bélanger St. When police arrived, they found several spent shell casings on the pavement of the parking lot, but no one was injured in the shooting.

The shots were reportedly fired by people in two different vehicles in the parking lot. The suspects were arrested in Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Montreal police were unable to say if the two minors were charged in youth court on Friday.
