Kyiv — Ukraine attacked one of two bridges over the Dnipro river in the Russian-occupied south, adding to the damage done by previous attacks, Southern Command said Wednesday. .

The strike at Kakhovsky Bridge is aimed at creating problems for Russia's logistics, the command said in his Facebook post.

The bridge was said to be "unfit for use."

Reuters was unable to immediately confirm this report.

Ukraine began last month in late February with an intensified attack on Russian supply lines in the Kherson region.

These attacks show how long-range weaponry supplied by the West has changed the dynamics of warfare, with Ukrainian forces attacking Russia, which would have been difficult to attack with Soviet-era systems. (Reporting by Max Hunder, Editing by Tom Balmforth and Grant McCool)
