A man in his 20s was critically injured by gunfire in a Vaughan early Saturday.
York Regional Police say gunshots rang out in a parking lot outside of an establishment at Interchange Way and Hwy. 7 – west of Jane St. – around 3:30 a.m.

“When officers arrived, they located a male victim with gunshot wounds,” Const. Amy Boudreau said in a statement released Saturday. “The male victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
She said the investigation is ongoing.
“There were several potential witnesses in the area and investigators are urging them to come forward to speak with police,” Boudreau said.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident and have not yet spoken to police to come forward.
Police are also seeking any video surveillance or dashcam video that could shed light on the investigation.
