Witnesses recall police-involved shooting in southeastern Calgary

Investigations continue after Calgary police officers shot dead a man in the southeastern neighborhood. Witnesses remember how the situation unfolded.

"I went home last night and sat down and heard five gunshots," said Fred Smith, who was home from work at the time of the incident. "Then I went out and there were police everywhere."

Police Blocked around 10 pm called to 1500 Friday after receiving a report from a male inhabitant they were behaving irregularly with their weapons.

Marie Ball was on her back deck when the police encountered the man and heard her screaming in front of her house.

Investigators stayed on-site throughout Saturday, including Alberta's police guard dog and Alberta's Incident Response Team (ASIRT).
