89-year-old woman dies a week after being hit by car in Toronto: police

An 89-year-old woman died a week after being hit by a vehicle crossing the road in Mimico, according to police.

According to Toronto Police, the clash occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m. On August 3rd, a car traveling south on Royal York Road turned left onto Stanley Avenue.

An 89-year-old woman was later hit by a car, police said. She was taken to the hospital with her life-threatening condition.

In an update on Wednesday, Toronto police said a woman died of injuries in hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The driver of the police car said he remained at the crash site.

"Police either have dashcam footage or are driving with locals who may have witnessed the incident. We are asking him to contact investigators," the police said.
