Friday night, the Cleveland Guardians' home game with the New York Yankees was postponed due to bad weather.
The team will return to the stadium early on Saturday for a split doubleheader. Game 1 will be played at 12:10 pm. ET 6:10 before the first scheduled match on Saturday.
This year, Mother Nature was not kind to the Guardians. Friday was the 10th postponed match of the season, 9 times due to the weather and one positive COVID-19 test. Eight of Cleveland's nine rainouts were home games.
The starting pitcher for the doubleheader was not yet known. The Yankees ace Gerrit Cole (6-2, 2.99 ERA) was scheduled to face Cleveland's Aaron Civale (2-4, 7.20 ERA) on Friday night.
