You can bet that Crosby will hit the 100-point mark — as long as he stays healthy

It has been four years since Sidney Crosby reached 100 points in a season.

But barring a major injury, it seems safe to assume that the Pittsburgh Penguins captain will surpass the over/under line of 81.2 points set by BetOnline.ag.

After all, Crosby had 84 points in 69 games last year. That was a 100-point pace. And it came even though he missed 13 games. With winger Jake Guentzel coming off a 40-goal season and Evgeni Malkin re-signed after scoring 20 goals in 41 games, Crosby should have even more opportunities to rack up a significant number of points.

The only question is can he stay healthy? At his age, the 35-year-old Crosby is probably not going to play in all 82 games. But as long as he doesn’t miss more than 15 or 20 games, finishing with 82 or more points is more than feasible for a player who has produced at a 96-point pace in each of the past three seasons.
