Elections are held today to elect the eighth President of the Republic of Cyprus. Some 561,033 voters have the right to go to the polls and are invited to choose one of the 14 candidates.
Voting starts at 7.00 in the morning and ends at 6.00 in the afternoon, with a break between 12.00 and 1.00 in the afternoon. The sorting and counting of votes will take place at the local polling stations after the end of voting. The elections will cost €7 million.
